مقياس لحداثة الاستشهادات المرجعية في وثيقة أو مقالة أو في حقل موضوعي بأكمله. وهي نسبة عدد الاستشهادات المرجعية citations التي لا يزيد عمرها عن خمس سنوات إلى العدد الكلي للاستشهادات. يشار إليها أحيانا بالمصطلح مؤشر برايس للفورية  Price''s immediacy index،  ولكن لا يجب مغالطته مع مؤشر الفورية immediacy index.
